The Component Information Portal (CIP) HELP includes all information presented in the the CIP User Guide and the CIP Client Installation Guide.

CIP is a web-based application that manages components used in schematic designs. CIP is an interface for entering, deleting and modifying parts without the need to access the master CIS database using native tools. General users can view data in the database without using a CIS license.

The CIP Client is an application that is loaded by Cadence OrCAD® Capture CIS. The CIP Client enables users to open CIP from Capture and preview parts from their libraries, place parts onto a schematic page, compare symbols and footprints, and open the Library Builder.

CIP functionality requires CIP to be pre-installed on a Web and SQL server. In addition to installation instructions, the CIP Installation Guide also describes the CIP architecture.
